The taxonomic distribution of the species in the pooled evaluation dataset over (A) the two fungal phyla retrieved, (B) the most common genera retrieved, (C) the most common species of Penicillium, and (D) the most common species of Aspergillus. The sequences were found to belong to 28 different fungal genera and 49 distinct species; an additional 11 sequences could not be assigned to species level with confidence due to the lack of fully identified reference sequences.
